Pádraig McNamara

Director - Project Management

Padraig

Pádraig graduated from Queens University Belfast in 2002 with an Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He moved to Scotland in 2002 and started his working career in the Electrical Industry as a Project Engineer before progressing to Project Management. In 2011 Pádraig gained Chartered Engineering status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). His experience spans across all phases of Substation Projects from bid, design, installation, commissioning, final records/handover specific to Substation Voltages from 11kV to 400kV in both green fields and brown field environments. Some of the Projects he has Project Managed on are as follows:

– Fort Augustus 400kV/132kV Substation Upgrade (SSE)
– Tomation 275kV/132kV Substation (SSE)
– Blackhillock 400kV/275kV/132kV Substation (SSE)
– Whitelee Windfarm Extension Project (SPEN)
– Markhill 275kV/132kV/33kV Windfarm Collector Substation (SPEN)

Some of his key skills are listed below:

  • Working knowledge of SSE/SPEN/NGTS standards
  • Health and Safety – IOSH Managing Safely
  • Managing engineering, installation and commissioning teams of various disciplines
  • Experienced PM on FIDIC, NEC and JCT construction contracts
  • Detailed understanding of contract change processes
  • Expert knowledge of substation engineering and construction sequencing

Colin Williams

Colin William - Director - Planning Consultant​

Colin graduated with an Honours degree in Civil Engineering in 2007 before spending the next 3 years as a civil design engineer. Since 2010, Colin has specialised in project planning, project controls and programme delay analysis. He has experience of working on large infrastructure projects on varying sectors including:

– Transmission and Distribution / Power
– Nuclear
– Defence
– Renewables
– Petrochemicals / Oil and Gas

Colin is proficient in the use of all main planning software including Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject and Microsoft Project. He is an expert in Earned Value Management and all associated systems. He has lengthy experience in the preparation of multiple extension of time claims and commercial programme support.

Some of his key skills and most recent experiences are listed below:

  • Specialist programme support on NEC, FDIC and JCT (amongst others) contracts,
  • Forensic analysis of supplier programmes and Extension of Time claims,
  • Preparation of impacted programmes and associated reports using various delay analysis techniques,
  • Developing and managing EVM systems,
  • Preparation of monthly programme dashboards,
  • Conducting interactive planning sessions ensuring inclusion of the wider project team in development of the programme, and,
  • Programme cost and resource loading.
